About Me
I'm Sam, I'm an amateur photographer currently attending law school at University of Maryland, Baltimore. I am a recent JMU grad where I studied geology and environmental management. I hope to build a career in environmental law & policy. I love traveling and taking photos as I go, but, I specialize in portrait photography.
Growing up, I was always begging my mom to let me be the one to take the pictures. In 2013, I received my first DSLR camera and it became an extension of my body. I love capturing moments and preserving memories in one frame!
Why The Name 'Living Begonia Photos?'
In high school, a friend and I bonded over a poem titled "Dead Begonia." A couple weeks later, that same friend filled in the name slot of my french worksheet with 'Begonia.' To this day, that french teacher still calls me 'Begonia.' In July 2015, following a friend's garage band photoshoot, I knew I had a calling. When it came to picking a name for my business, what was more fitting than my alter ego? However, Dead Begonia Photos did not communicate my love for capturing life and all of its best moments.
Hence, Living Begonia Photos was born!
